Mark Jodice Duo

 

Mark Jodice has been performing and teaching professionally for the past 20 years.  Mark has taught in the public school system for the past 16 years and has been teaching guitar privately for the past 20 years.  He has also taught guitar for the past 3 years at the Foxborough High School summer jazz camp and will be teaching at the Concord Center for Music this summer (2005).  He has worked with middle school and high school concert/jazz bands and is currently working in the Natick school system. Mark has studied with some of the finest teachers, including Garrison Fewell, Dan Delaney, and Mick Goodrick. He has performed and traveled throughout New England with many different bands in a variety of styles including rock, funk/fusion and jazz.  He is currently performing with several different jazz groups and as a sideman with other local artists.

 

Sai Ghose hails from Shaker Heights, OH. He received a B.A. from Indiana University and a M.Ed. from Lesley College in Cambridge, MA. He has studied with many great players including Jerry Bergonzi and Larry Goldings.

 

He has three recordings out on Summit Records. All three CDs have received strong reviews in publications like JazzTimes, Allaboutjazz.com, and others, as well as getting national radio play— all making the top 50 chart for over 20 weeks combined.

 

Sai performs in New England and beyond with appearances at Scullers Jazz Club in Boston, Yoshi's in Oakland, Nighttown in Cleveland, and at the Berkshire Jazz Festival in Western Massachusetts.

 

Sai was awarded a compositional grant in 2003 from the Massachusetts Cultural Council for four of his compositions from Fingers and Toes. He also won a gold medal for "Music in a Short Film" at the 2004 Park City Music Festival.

 

Sai has taught in Concord, MA for the last 16 years, and at the Concord Community Music School in Concord, NH as well. In addition to teaching, Sai continues to lead his own band, freelance as a jazz piano player, and compose music. He currently lives in Acton, MA.
