Calliope is an exciting, energetic live band
with female and male vocals specializing in wedding receptions, functions,
corporate events, and club performances. Calliope's repertoire spans from the
swing era to today's top hits, with plenty of classic disco, motown and rock
& roll in between. With Calliope you are choosing a band that has been
providing top quality entertainment to hundreds of clients for over fifteen
years throughout Massachusetts, Cape Cod, Rhode Island, New Hampshire and other
elegant New England settings. Our goal is to always provide the highest quality
music to your event; and you will see that we have fun doing it!
Kathy Quirk
- Vocalist
Kathy truly is one of New England's finest female vocalist/entertainers, and
goes to great lengths in making sure she is delivering accurate re-creations of
your favorite hits, all while still maintaining her own musical individuality.
She is extremely charismatic and will keep you entertained throughout your
event.
Charlie Blanchette
- Drums, Master Of Ceremonies, Vocals
Charlie is the spokesperson for Calliope. In addition to providing strong
drumming to keep you on the dance floor, Charlie is always working to keep your
event running smoothly. His superior speaking voice and ability to communicate
with others insures that your affair is a huge success.
Gary Sjolin -
Keyboards, Vocalist, Trumpet
Gary's keyboard and vocal styles are a big part of the Calliope sound. He is
also dedicated to accurately re-creating your favorite hits. Utilizing today's
technologies, he does just that, and has a great time doing it. In addition to
Gary's musical expertise, he is also a first rate sound engineer. With his
musical and technical skills, you are guaranteed the best in sound quality.
Jim Peterson
- Bass, Vocals
One of the most versatile bass players in the area, Jim's strong, but subtle,
groove oriented style of playing will entice you out of your seats, and onto
your feet. Add to this his classic, warm, baritone voice, and you'll soon
realize that Jim's more than just a highly educated and experienced musician;
he's a person truly interested in making a connection with his audience!
Marc Larrey
- Guitar, Vocals
Truly the areas finest, Marc excels in playing all styles of music. Whether
performing a big band number from the 40's or a pop hit of the 90's, he is
always on target. You will delight in seeing and hearing Marc perform.
The talents and personalities of these five
individuals combine to create the highest standard in musical and entertainment
excellence. There is an on-stage chemistry between the members that is apparent
to every member of the audience.
How long are your sets?
Calliope puts no time limits on sets. If your affair includes a sit down dinner,
we play until your guests have been served the main course before taking our
first break. In the past, Calliope has been known to play up to two hour dinner
and dance sets. We will not interrupt the momentum of the event just to adhere
to a break schedule. Calliope also provides taped music for breaks. Special
break music such as ethnic favorites, etc. are available at your request.
Will you learn special
songs for our event?
If we do not already know them, we will learn your special dance requests or
theme songs. Prior to your event, Charlie makes sure all requests are in and
that not only does the band know them; they play them like the record. .....Just
as you want to hear them!.
The function room is
small, will the band be too loud?
Calliope has two separate sound systems. One for small rooms and one for large
rooms. Both are state of the art and designed and maintained by a national
touring sound company to provide high quality performance night after night.
